Wet kraft paper tape, also known as water-activated tape, is a type of tape that requires water to activate its adhesive.
The tape is made from kraft paper, a strong and durable paper material that is ideal for packaging and shipping applications. Here are some characteristics of making wet kraft paper tape:
Kraft paper tape selection: The quality and strength of the kraft paper used for the tape are critical to the tape’s performance. High-quality kraft paper that has been properly processed and is free from defects or contaminants is typically used to make wet kraft paper tape.
Adhesive application: The adhesive used for wet kraft paper tape is typically a starch-based adhesive that is applied to the paper during the manufacturing process. The adhesive is usually applied to one side of the paper, and the tape is then wound onto rolls for storage and transportation.
Activation by water: Wet kraft paper tape gets its name from the fact that it requires water to activate its adhesive. To use the tape, the adhesive side is moistened with water, which activates the starch-based adhesive and creates a strong bond with the surface it is applied to.

Strength and durability: Wet kraft paper tape is known for its strength and durability. The tape’s high tensile strength, combined with its water-activated adhesive, provides a strong and secure seal that can withstand the rigors of shipping and handling.
Eco-friendliness: Wet kraft paper tape is an eco-friendly packaging material that is made from renewable resources and is biodegradable. It is also free from harmful chemicals and toxins, making it a safer and more sustainable alternative to plastic-based packaging materials.
Overall, wet kraft paper tape is a versatile and reliable packaging material that offers a range of benefits, including strength, durability, eco-friendliness, and ease of use.
